36th Annual Narrow Gauge 10 Miler

The Narrow Gauge 10 Miler is the oldest race in Colorado. This Memorial Day weekend tradition includes a 10-mile road race, a 5K run and New for 2013 – 15K Trail Run!
Race Information
All races begin at Animas Surgical Hospital, 575 Rivergate Lane. Directions to Animas Surgical Hospital
Start Times
- 15K Trail Run – 7:30 am
- 10 Mile Road Run – 8:00 am
- 5K Run – 8:15 am
Packet Pick-up
- Saturday, May 25th 1 pm – 5 pm at Your Running Store 726 ½ Main Ave
- Sunday, May 26 before the races 6 am – 7 am
15K Trail Course
The tail run will use the old railroad grade, just behind Animas Surgical Hospital, to access Horse Gulch. Once in Horse Gulch runners will climb to the top of Telegraph Trail; then descend down to Carbon Junction Trailhead. From there it’s a quick trip along the Animas River to the finish at Animas Surgical Hospital.
10-Mile Course
The 10-Mile course winds through down town Durango, proceeds along the River Trail and climbs u p hill to F ort Lewis College then descends back to Animas Surgical Hospital.
5K Course
The 5K run goes the opposite direction of the 10-mile, along Hwy 3 and winds back along the river.
Post-Race Party
All races finish a t the Animas Surgical Hospital for a pos t race party. Relax by the river; enjoy the awards ceremony, music, food and drink. Fun for the whole family.
Goodies - Each entry receives a performance race shirt, goodie bag,
post-r ace brunch of bagels, fruit and more.
Race Recognition —for winner s in all age categories both 10-Mile and 15K Trail. The top three male and female finishers will be recognized in the 5K.
Proceeds from the race are donated to Durango Motorless Transit, Fort Lewis College Cross Country and La Plata County Search and Rescue.
